What Are Chakras?

The word chakra means “wheel” in Sanskrit. Chakras are spinning centers of energy that run along the spine, from the base to the crown of the head. Each one corresponds to specific emotions, physical areas, and life themes.

There are 7 main chakras, and when energy flows freely through them, you feel more at peace, more powerful, and more connected to your highest self.


The 7 Main Chakras & What They Represent

1. Root Chakra – Muladhara

  • Location: Base of spine

  • Theme: Safety, stability, grounding

  • Signs of Blockage: Anxiety, insecurity, financial stress, feeling unrooted

2. Sacral Chakra – Svadhisthana
